The winner of the Best Film award at the recent Berlin Film Festival, the Romanian film Poziţia copilului/Child’s Pose will premier in Romania at the National Theater in Bucharest on March 4. Directed by Călin Peter Netzer, it was the first ever Romanian film to win the Golden Bear at the Berlinale. The red carpet event at the National Theater starts at 19:30 and along with actors from the film, a host of celebrities and dignitaries are expected to attend.
There will also be an advanced screening open to the public on March 6 at the AFI Cotroceni Palace shopping center in Bucharest, before the film goes on general release across Romania on March 8. In the first week, the film will run in 35 cinemas across 20 cities: Bucharest, Cluj, Arad, Timisoara, Constanta, Craiova, Oradea, Bacau, Brasov, Braila, Ploiesti, Pitesti, Targu Mures, Tirgu-Jiu, Tulcea, forthe Satu Mare, Calarasi Slobozia, Slatina, Vaslui and Bistrita, according to the local media.
The film has also recently secured distribution deals for countries around the world. Poziţia copilului/Child’s Pose stars veteran Romanian actress Luminița Gheorghiu as an overbearing and overprotective mother.
