Around 1,300 troops participate in multinational military drill in Romania

Around 1,300 troops from Canada, Germany, the Republic of Moldova and Romania will participate in the Scorpions Fury-16 military drill organized at a training center in Cincu commune, Brasov county.

The military exercise will start on Wednesday, October 26, and will end on November 2.

The Romanian Land Forces will participate in the exercise with some 1,000 troops from the 2nd Infantry Brigade "Rovine,” according to a statement from the Romanian Ministry of National Defense.

Scorpions Fury-16 will be conducted in three phases consisting of command exercises, real simulation in the field, and combat shootings. The multinational exercise aims at brigade headquarters and subunits training in the planning and execution of complex tactical operations using NATO standard operating procedures, in cooperation with partners from NATO and the Partnership for Peace (PfP).
