GNC, the American retailer of nutritional products has recently entered the Romanian market through its first store opened in the capital city, in Bucuresti Mall, following an investment of EUR 60,000.

“We chose to bring GNC in Romania in an good moment we'd say, as the market for nutritional supplements increases year on year, especially on the premium segment”, said Emilia Canea, general manager CNG Romania.

After the investment of EUR 60,000 in the store opened in Bucuresti Mall, GNC Romania has proposed to extend with units in malls from other cities in Romania, like Timisoara, Cluj, Constanta and Iasi. By the end of this year, the American retailer also plans to enter in Afi Palace Cotroceni mall, in Bucharest.

Globally, GNC recorded profits up 9 percent in the first quarter of this year, to USD 506 million and estimates for the entire year  revenues of EUR 1.97 billion. GNC sells health and nutrition products, including vitamins, supplements, minerals and herbs.
