Air Serbia starts operating flights from Romania’s Otopeni Airport

Air Serbia, the Serbian national air carrier, has operated its first flight from Romania’s Otopeni Airport on Tuesday (December 10), on the Bucharest - Belgrade route.

Another company, low-cost airline EasyJet, has also started operating flights from Otopeni Airport on the route Bucharest - London.

Also, low cost airline Ryanair announced recently that it will introduce flights from Bucharest in April 2014. The low cost airline expects 160,000 passengers a year from its two routes operated from Bucharest, and 210,000 passengers on all Romanian routes, including Targu Mures and Constanta flights, according to Maria Macken, sales and marketing manager Ryanair.

Otopeni Airport counted 3.5 million passengers in the first half of this year, slightly up over the same period in 2012.

Some of the airlines currently operating on the Otopeni Airport are Tarom, Blue Air, British Airways, Air France KLM, and Wizz Air.
