More than 500 troops participate in military training in Romania

More than 200 troops from the Romanian Land Forces and the Romanian Naval Forces participate between September 19 and September 30 in the Platinum Lynx 16.5 training module, part of the Black Sea Rotational Force 16 (BSRF 16) exercise.

The training takes place in the Babadag polygon in Tulcea county. During the exercise, the Romanian soldiers will train alongside 300 other troops from Bulgaria, Former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia, Montenegro, Moldova, Slovenia, USA, and Ukraine.

The training will include firing weaponry, first aid in the areas of operations, practicing command and control procedures at subunits level.

BSRF 16 is an annual exercise, led by the American Marine Forces Command deployed in Europe and Africa, held in the Black Sea, the Balkans, and the Caucasus. It aims to increase interoperability through joint training of military personnel, for participation in peacekeeping and counter-insurgency operations.
