Young Romanian becomes partner in one of the world's biggest venture capital firms

Luciana Lixandru, a 32-year old Romanian investment specialist based in London, has been appointed the newest partner of Accel, one of the biggest venture capital (VC) firms in the world, according to techcrunch.com.

Accel has been involved in some of the biggest deals that market the tech boom in recent years and has financed startups such as Facebook, Supercell, Dropbox, Deliveroo, Spotify, Flipkart, and many more.

Luciana Lixandru was previously a principal investor at the Accel office in London, where she worked on the firm’s investments in Avito, Catawiki, Wallapop, Deliveroo, Algolia, Doctolib, and Vinted. Before that, she was an investor at Summit Partners, where she worked on the firm’s investment in investment in AVAST, a security software business.

She is just the third woman-partner of Accel as well as one of the firm’s youngest partners, according to techcrunch.com.

Luciana Lixandru was born in a small town in Romania and graduated magna cum laude from Georgetown University in Washington, DC, with a double major in Economics and Mathematics. She wanted to become a math teacher but her career took a different turn as she went to work for Morgan Stanley, one of the top investment banks in the U.S.
