Over 30,000 Romanians go on trips on Valentine's Day

Over 30,000 Romanians will go on mini-holidays during Valentine's Day, 90% of them in the country and the rest abroad, according to an analysis of the Romanian Tourism Employers Federation (FPTR).

The most popular domestic destinations are Predeal, Sinaia, Calimanesti, and Baile Felix. Outside the country, most tourists are going to Austria and Bulgaria.

Most of the tourists (28,000) will spend the two weekends before and after the Valentine’s day event in local resorts. Valea Prahovei ranks first, as tourists will be able to enjoy snow these days. Tariffs start from RON 150 (EUR 33.3) for a two-night stay at a three-star hotel, and reach RON 650 (EUR 144.3) for a two-night stay, at a five-star hotel.

Last year, the most popular destination abroad for Valentine’s Day mini-trips was Italy. This year it has been surpassed by Austria and Bulgaria, due to favorable weather for skiing.
