2015 European Games medal table: Where does Romania stand?

Romania ranked 17th out of a total of 42 countries that competed at the 2015 European Games organized in Baku between June 12 and June 28, with a total of 12 medals.

Romanian athletes claimed three gold medals at this year’s edition of the event: two in the fencing competition (won by Ana Maria Branza and the Romanian women’s epee team), and one at judo (Andreea Chitu).

Romania also got five silver medals at aerobic gymnastics (1), canoe sprint (1), fencing (2), and artistic gymnastics (1). Bronze went to the Romanian athletes who competed in fencing (1), artistic gymnastics (2), and sambo (1) competitions.

Russia ranked first in the 2015 European Games medal table, with a total of 164 medals (79 gold medals, 40 silver, and 45 bronze). The top three was completed by Azerbaijan - 56 medals, and Great Britain - 47.

Denmark got the same number of medals as Romania. The Danish athletes claimed 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 5 bronze.
